Pfeiffer won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress for her performance in The Fabulous Baker Boys (1989), and a BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her performance in Dangerous Liaisons (1988); she also won the Silver Bear for Best Actress at the Berlin Film Festival for her role in Love Field (1992). In addition, she has been nominated for three Academy Awards - 1988 Best Supporting Actress for Dangerous Liaisons, 1989 Best Actress for The Fabulous Baker Boys, and 1992 Best Actress for Love Field - and a further five Golden Globe Awards between 1988 and 1993. She has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Hollywood Boulevard. In 1989, Pfeiffer made her stage début in the role of Olivia in Twelfth Night, a New York Shakespeare Festival production staged in Central Park. In her private life, Pfeiffer was married to actor Peter Horton from 1981-1988 and then married producer David E. Kelley in 1993.
