Author Notes: He was born on the Rosebud Reservation in south-central South Dakota. Raised by his maternal grandparents, his first language is Lakota. He is a historian, educator & lecturer & the author of highly regarded small press books. He has been a technical advisor & actor in television movies including Return to Lonesome Dove. A recipient of the Wyoming Humanities Award.
