Kaui Hart Hemmings is a writer who was born and raised in Hawaii. She attended Colorado College and graduated in 1998. Her debut novel The Descendants was adapted by Alexander Payne and Jim Rash into the acclaimed 2011 American film The Descendants, starring George Clooney.
