Madeline Miller is a novelist who was born in 1978 in Boston. She earned her Bachelor's and Masters Degrees in Classics from Brown University. She soon began teaching Latin, Greek, and Shakespeare to high school students. She also took classes at the University of Chicago's Committee on Socila Thought and at the Yale School of Drama. Her debut novel,The Song of Achilles, was released in 2011. It won the 17th annual Orange Prize for Fiction and was shortlisted for the 2013 Chautauqua Prize.
