Luke Winslow, American fighter pilot, selflessly goes to battle for the freedom of others in Spain's Civil War. In the process, however, he loses at love-and abandons his faith in God. Adding to his heartache is the death of an old friend in a tragic accident for which Luke blames himself. He tries to make amends by reaching out to his friend's sister, Joelle, and soon falls in love with her. With the outbreak of World War 11, Luke takes to the air again, vowing to defeat his old nemesis from the war in Spain, a German ace known as the Black Knight. After graduating from college, Morris became a pastor for a Baptist Church in Alabama. He resided there from 1955 until 1961, at which point he accepted an appointment as a professor at Ouchita Baptist University. Morris now writes books full time, and all of his stories have a basis in Christian faith. Over the course of his career, Morris has sold millions of copies of his titles. He has been a Gold medallion finalist several times and has received five angel awards, three for the Winslow series and two for the Appomatox Series.
